What do you do with a million formula cans?

Since the whole breast-feeding thing failed miserably, we’ve been inundated with so many empty formula cans! Yes, we have recycling that comes every 2 weeks, so we can always dump them in there, but I almost feel like recycling should be the last resort. Up-cycling or repurposing is preferable.

Chris has been storing some old paintballs in some of the cans and maybe I was a little jealous of the utility, I wanted some for myself, but the labels on the cans are SO stinking ugly. Then it dawned on me, the cans are silver and you CAN take off the label (yeah, a little obvious, huh?). I think it took me a good 3 months to come to this simple realization. At about the same time, I realized that I have silver and white wallpaper, and the cans are silver!! BINGO! Cut, cut, tape, tape, about 2 seconds later I had some stylish cans to hold my make-up brushes, Penelope’s bath toiletries, etc! Now I can’t wait until Penelope finishes off a can so I can repurpose it.

AND. . . a couple of weeks ago when I went to open my fabulously glamorous makeup, the lid greeted me with a smiley face. I couldn’t help but share. . .

P.S. Bare Essentuals is pure magic. I love it!

Cute idea! And I have Bare Minerals/Essentuals too and I swear I will never go back to drug store makeup!! I sure wish there was an easier and cleaner way to apply it though.

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to check your site. I love all the new posts. The cans are adorable and I would have never guessed that formula came in them. I need to talk to you about your makeup. I’ve been questioning buying it but wasn’t sure. Tell me more! Nellie P is adorable and very chubby. I’m glad to hear that she is liking the rice cereal. I miss you tons! I went to the park with Roxie and immediately thought of calling you first to see if you wanted to come. Sigh.

hahaha, love this post. I kept all of formula cans after weaning Jack. I’ve only used a few so far, but I cover them with craft paper (and sometimes that free fabric) and fill them with cookies, muddy buddies, etc. as gifts. It works pretty well. I’m all for the repurposing! Yours look awesome!

    4. I love all your crafty ideas, and the smiley face was awesome. :)

Love the cans! Is that wallpaper on the cans? (For those of us that aren’t artistic, we need to cheat.) Tell me more about the makeup… Where do you get it? Is it pricey, if so, does it last long?

Can’t wait to see you guys at the end of the month!
