Calligraphy Giveaway

I am so excited about giving gifts this year, I’ve got a B-I-G surprise in store for Chris. I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he opens it! I just love that bursting-at-the-seams excitement that I get when I figured out something particularly thoughtful to give to someone. What are your Christmas gift-giving plans? Do any of you have plans to give the gift of love and appreciation (aka a really special letter)?

hand written calligraphy giveaway

I’m doing a unique giveaway here this week. One lucky, random commenter will win a hand-written note transcribed by me! What does this mean, exactly? It means the winner will email me the text for the letter, I’ll hand write the sentiments in calligraphy on special stationery and send it off in a special envelope to that special someone. I think this is a great idea, especially for those loved ones that may be far away and/or overseas serving our country.

Please follow the guidelines below for entry:

  • Please comment on this post. Click on the this permalink or the title above to comment.
  • Any comment will do. If you can’t think of what to say, answer one of these questions: Who would you sent a letter to? Would it be funny or sappy?
  • Comment before 11:59pm midnight MST Thursday, December 10, 2009.
  • Please tell family and friends about it (not required, but very nice). Tweet, Facebook, or text someone about it.
  • One comment per person only.

Bonnes Chance!

P.S. There’s nothing wrong with entering for your significant other. Make sure to put their email address in the comment form & include your name in the comment!

Beautiful. Is it bad that I’d want to receive one? ;) If I were to win, I’d write a letter to my Aunts, Michelle and Leda.

Do you have your own tutorial (or book) on calligraphy?

    4. I would either send it to my grandma, or to my daughter who is 2, then keep it sealed up in her scrapbook until she’s older :)

Your calligraphy is beautiful! I would send the letter to my husband, and try to include as many “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” quotes as possible. It is one of the best Christmas movies, and we watch it every holiday season!

    6. Sarah says:

I haven’t written my husband a letter in years. What a lovely idea and your calligraphy would make it a special and thoughtful gift.

Oooh la la, found you via The Stationery Place.

I love your caligraphy – how pretty!

I am not sure how much you’d write, but I think I would request you to either write the names on some place cards for an event I have coming up, or some sort of welcome note – not sure yet.

This is such a precious idea. The hardest part would be deciding who the lucky recipient might be. hmmmmmmmm

This is just the best idea! I can’t decide if I’d want something sappy for my husband, or something snarky and vicious and witty for a friend… this is just a wonderful idea and how beautiful is your work!! LOVE IT!

      Hoping I win, of course!

entering for my husband, because I’m sure he’d send me something nice. Or he’d better!

    14. Lauren says:

What a unique and thoughtful giveaway!

If I won, I would have you send my children a letter from Santa – I remember receiving one as a child written in scrawly Santa-writing and I thought it was so special that I kept it for years!

My 3 little ones (Jude, Gabby and Merrick) are all still big believers in the magic of Christmas and a beautifully written letter from the North Pole would absolutely delight them!
