I have all sorts of hang ups about texture & fit. Seriously, I’m crazy. I can’t touch microfiber unless I have lotion on my hands and I most certainly hate, hate, hate to wear a pair of socks that don’t fit or feel right. Just ask my mom. In the years & years I took ballet, every week it was the same struggle to find the one pair of tights that fit properly. When I say struggle, envision a 14 year old girl crying & screaming because her tights feel gross & like they’re on backwards. As soon as I quit ballet, I quit wearing tights or any sort of sock for that matter. I couldn’t do it.
Just in the last couple of years, tights have become a big thing in fashion. Wanting to participate in current fashion trends, I have given tights a second chance. While I have about 10+ pairs of tights, they’re not all created equally. Some don’t have a designated front or back (ANNOYING) while others might have a muffin-top-inducing elastic waistline. I hate both, but I typically sacrifice my sanity for the sake of fashion. Especially if it means just sporting them for a few hours on Sunday for church. I’m grown up enough to handle that. Most of the time.
When Hanes invited me to try a few samples of their new sheer tights, I was totally game. After all, they could be super comfortable. I am so glad I tried them out! They’re great! They have a label differentiating the front from the back. The material is silky smooth even on spiky I-haven’t-shaved-in-a-week legs. And then there’s the waistband. Ooooh, the waistband is heavenly. It’s smooth, flat & seamless. I’m a fan. Here’s how I wore my tights yesterday:

This outfit is sort of a transitional Summer/Fall outfit. I kind of like to call it the Peter Pan look because of the tights & the pointed booties. I’ve been seeing quite a few fashion blogs feature the blazer/short combo & I’m totally sold. I love it. The Sartorialist calls it transitional dressing. I think it’s brilliant & oh so chic.
So cute! I’d wear the tights with some of my skirts or dresses and a pair of boots to transition to a fall look.
I totally agree with you about yucky tights! It sounds like these Hanes ones are a dream!
i would DEFINITELY pair these with a vintage dress and some cowboy boots or riding boots. i would top it off with a cardigan and a gold chain necklace and voila! you have my favorite outfit that i always feel good in!! if i was feeling adventurous i would even layer the tights by putting a neutral colored lacy pair of tights over the sheer colored tights! hope i win!
I would add tights to some of my current looks to make them more fall. Hopefully, CA cools down enough for this to be a real possibility.
Oh, I love darker tights in the fall. I’d wear them with a skirt and boots!

I have always loved the look of tights, but I am like you, I can never find just the right tights! I am boring and I would just wear them with skirts and dresses.
I thought I was the only one picky about tights. Okay, you have me NEEDING these. Smooth even on pricky legs? SOLD!

I’d pair them with a cord skirt for fall. Also, I totally understand and can empathize with the texture issues. I’ve heard that this can be related to tactile defensiveness.
I’m with you on the socks/tights thing, and it’s so nice to know there are other people who have issues with them! I used to drive my mom crazy when I’d insist she take off my shoes to “fix” my socks (meaning the seam at the toe wasn’t quite lined up) and I’m still the same way.
Anyway – I would wear these tights with my summer dresses to make them appropriate for fall!
i have been patiently waiting for “tights weather” here in southern california, and while we aren’t there quite yet, i am so looking forward to cooler temperatures! i would love to wear these tights with fall boots and dresses. (fingers crossed!!)
skirts! i love tights but have a hard time getting them over my g’s, i always get SUPER frustrated bc i have to roll my legs down :(

Since, I’m no trend follower, I’d have to admit that I’d just be boring wear them with my large collection of skirts and dresses :) However, I am fashion forward enough that I love colored tights and those plum ones are calling my name!

I live in Arizona, so unfortunately, it seems that we never get ideal leggings weather. but I’ve found that, when cut nicely, they make perfect cords for my charms. I am allergic to Nickle so finding affordable necklace chains is never easy, but I have actually come to prefer the just-stretchy-enough comfort of these sheer cloth cords to give my pendants their full use!

I love these tights. I would wear them with an assortment of sweater dresses. I have also had luck layering tights with carpris and flowing tops. I’d love to try these.
Aside from with all my work pants (my office is cold), I have a cute wool gray skirt that would love to meet some plum tights.

I would wear them with just about anything probably… I don’t wear shorts or skirts because I don’t like my blazingly white legs (seriously I can be tan as tan can be everywhere else.. my legs? pasty bright shiney white.. hate it) so I think comfy tights would make me wear them out of the house..
