I Refuse to Wear Maternity

DownEast Basics gave me a great sweater jacket to review & I have to admit, I’ve worn it every day since I’ve bought it. It’s made out of soft, hoodie-like material so it feels like I’m cozying up in my favorite hoodie, but it’s considerably more polished.

I’m particularly in love with the jewel tone of this coat. The product image on DownEast Basics’ site looks more cobalt, but the actual color has more indigo in it. That made a huge difference to me. I love the deep blue in this jacket!

Overall, I’m in love with this jacket. It’s not the kind of jacket I would wear when it’s below freezing outside, but it is surprisingly warm and perfect for this cooler fall weather. The fit is snug, so I would suggest going up a size if you plan on layering it with sweaters or cardigans underneath.

I love the ‘Happy Hem Skirt’ in Dove…and would love to wear it with my tried-and-true knee-high Born boots. I practically live in them in the winter because they allow me to wear all my cute skirts throughout the season!

The Your Highness Dress would look really good on me. I’m so super tired of my boring clothes. I have lost more weight since having Phineas than before I had him, so I feel extra frumpy in all my clothes, especially my church clothes. Maybe they could help me out?

Happy birthday, Meliss! I think you’re the best!

    17. Kim says:

Happy Birthday! So exciting! I have been looking at the Abstract Skirt forever! I keep hinting to my hubby to buy it for me!!! I would pair it with some navy tights and a pink/purple shirt. Or do all black (tights and top) with accents of mustard/gold. My skin tone doesn’t do well with yellow so better to keep it as an accent.

    25. Emily says:

I would love the Happy Hem skirt paired with some cute riding boots!

    26. hilary says:

That sweater jacket looks so good on you, I think I would have to choose it! I’d definitely pick the “Know When to Fold Jacket- Hawaiian Ocean”. I’m always looking for a warmer jacket that isn’t so stiff but fancier than my regular old sweatshirts and hoodies!

    31. Tayler says:

I’ve been looking for a jacket I can wear as my pregnant belly gets bigger! You look so cute in the blue jacket…I’d have to say I’d love the same blue jacket. Even the brown in the same style is just as cute. I’d wear it with skinny jeans and either my converse or boots.

OMG! I am in LOVE with the “Black Union Jacket”!!! And its a great price! I live in Alabama, so it doesnt get horribly cold here for too long, so I would most likely pair this with a nice pair of dark jeans, a bold colored top and boots with heels :D Hmmm… definately putting this one on my Christmas list ;)

    42. Lydia says:

I am totally digging that jacket you are sporting! It has a little peacoat flare without all the woolly warmth. Just the compromise I’ve been looking for as I’ve drooled over winter outerwear knowing that I’ll never need that much warmth in Phoenix’s mild winters. Well done, DownEast Basics!

    43. Becky MB says:

I absolutely love the perfect peplum jacket (would be great with boots and dark jeans and big dangly earrings) and the hot to trot skirt. I’ve been looking for a classic denim skirt like that for ages!
