A Feather Pretty is in My Hair + Tutorial

Sometimes I feel like a complete troll. I see some of the sweetest things on etsy and in my ultra cheapness I decide not to buy it but make it myself, and write a tutorial about it.

I’ve seen some stinking awesome feather headbands lurking around etsy, and I’ve made my own clippies with feathers on them, but the black-feather clippies didn’t really work in my short, dark hair. So I’m very excited to tell you that I’ve assembled a headband complete with feathers and fabric flower that doesn’t just blend in.

I’ve even made a FREE downloadable tutorial. Click here to download the Feather Headband Tutorial. If you’re having problems downloading, please comment and I’ll make sure to get it to you!

Exploit a little thigh.

I made this little number for a friend’s baby shower. I really hope that her baby will have chubby little thighs. MMmm. Nothing like a little baby thigh.

New Books in the Shoppe

For some reason I have to call my etsy store the Shoppe (pronounced /Shop E/). And by the way, do you know that I have one? I’ve been secretly listing hand bound books on there without really telling anyone. So here it is, I have a shoppe, and it’s awesome and you should probably buy a book. A perfect gift for someone cool. I just listed these two lovelies:

So hop on over to the IS•LY Etsy Shoppe and peruse all of the goodies I’ve made. Just for you.

Million Formula Cans Pt. II

It’s a good think that Penelope drinks so much, otherwise I wouldn’t have anything to put Christmas presents in. Now I’m thinking, what am I going to do when she grows out of formula? Maybe I’ll just have to buy formula just for the cans. Or beg neighbors that have little ones for their leftover cans. I love those things.

This year I made marshmallows, caramels, chocolate-dipped meringue cookies. I feel a little guilty that I’m contributing to the annual sugar-induced coma. Oh well. At least they’re tasty.
