Be Mine Giveaway *CLOSED*

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you’re spending your holiday surrounded the love of family & friends!

I was thinking in the wee hours last night of making a great heart-shaped breakfast for Christopher, but I completely failed to do it this morning. I could have, but I just forgot! I do love my husband even though I fail to do special things for him sometimes.

Two weeks ago my sister gave me a box of formula samples that came to her door. Inside the box were little cardboard filler boxes to keep the two canisters in place. I just about discarded them, when I thought how lovely they’d be for holding a small set of cards. Completely inspired by Mer Mag’s color theory valentine’s, I thought I’d make a little bit of stationery to fit in those boxes.

I used my mini heart stamp & stamped  like a crazy lady yesterday. It took me about an hour to cut, score, fold & stamp 12 cards and then another half hour to design & cut out matching envelopes (on my Silhouette). I made three little boxes full of stationery in relatively no time & I’m quite pleased with how they turned out.

I plan on keeping one of the sets for myself, but the other two? I’d like to give them away. To two of you. See. . . I love blogging. It’s been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, and you? Thanks to all of you who have commented on this blog. Your encouragement & kind words don’t go unnoticed. Ever.

So, just leave a comment (perhaps telling me what your plans are – or aren’t – for Valentine’s day) and I’ll announce two winners tomorrow. Here are the official details:

so funny that you forgot to make breakfast for your hubby today..lol. i have a terrible memory so i would probably do the same thing!

    2. Shaela says:

these are darling!! My husband often works evenings so we rarely spend a Valentine’s dinner together, so we started a tradition years ago to have a special Valentine’s breakfast. I make heart shaped pancakes with strawberries, whipped cream and homemade syrup. The kids love it and it’s a special time for us all to be together. :)

    3. Christine says:

Cute stationery! My hubby and I are going out for dinner tonight. He’s surprising me as to where!

    4. Scarlet Lily says:

What beautiful cards! I suddenly feel the need to own a heart stamp. The hubby and I just got back from a trip to Savannah two days ago so we’re not doing anything for Valentine’s day! No worries though, there’s tons of love around here!

    6. So cute! Love the cards! I had the same ideas for breakfast for my fiance. He loves walnut pancakes with strawberries on top and I wanted to make them in heart shapes, but I forgot to set my alarm early enough to do it before he went to work! We did spend the weekend cooking together though and made a fruit tart with strawberries shaped into a heart. :)

    7. Emily says:

      I love your heart stamps!

    8. Rachael says:

Gorgeous card sets! Husband has a super long day at school today but we celebrated Saturday night and he is coming home for dinner tonight so I am going to whip up something yummy and romantic ;)

    9. Jenny Lynn says:

      I LOVE these!!
The husband and I are eating at a small, local restaurant then going to the movies! We hardly ever go to the movies so we’re super excited – haha!

    10. Stephanie says:

I absolutely adore the heart stamp and all the creative possibilities it opens up. I will definitely be looking for one too!

    11. Our Valentine’s Day plans include wearing pink and/or red and/or flowers and/or hearts (well that’s just me and my daughter), eating paella and chocolate cake tonight once we’re all home from work.

    12. Lynne says:

Your cards are beautiful! Thanks for the giveaway!

    13. Melanie says:

      Love your heart stamp!
It’s a weird valentine’s day this year for my husband and I. We are recently married and he’s far east in Afghanistan. So we spend 30 minutes this morning speaking on the phone and making promises for his vacation in march.
If I’m the lucky winner, I might send him one card with ‘another’ declaration of my unconditional love ;)
I read your blog every day and you inspired me some subjects for my own blog.

Sorry, not sure my english is ok…better in french!

      Mel

    14. Amanda says:

So cute! Just a simple dinner/movie with my husband. I may use heart cookie cutters to make it more romantic.

    15. Emily says:

    26. Nicia says:

Oh…Joe and decided to keep it low key this year since we are going to be in Denver celebrating our anniversary this year. I filled up a big page full of reasons why I love him. I left it for him on his nightstand to discover!

    27. SO CUTE!! Thanks for the giveaway :)

    28. Linda says:

Lovely cards! I’m alone so will not be doing much celebrating. Thanks for the chance to win. 8-)

    29. Natalie says:

Thanks for the giveaway, your cards are great.

We are having dinner at home (maybe we will light candles so it can be fancy). We went out last night. I hate finding a sitter and battling the crowds on V day.

    30. jo says:

no big plans, just dinner and homemade peppermint patties :)

    31. Virginia says:

what cute cards! I love just how many uses you’ve found for your little (and big) heart stamps. Hmmm, well, Valentines Day is also my brother’s birthday, so we usually try to really celebrate that instead.

    32. Diane says:

My husband and I work together….soooo that means we ride to work together, work all day together, ride home together and usually spend the evening together. We love each other very much and can’t image our life together being any different. To this Valentines we are going to spend the day together! lol
Very cute give away by the way!

    33. Melinda W. says:

My hubby and I celebrated Saturday night- dinner and dancing with our fabulously fun friends!!! He is traveling for work on this Heart Day so the kids and I will make our traditional heart pizzas with heart shaped pepperoni!
P.S. I’m a new reader and love your blog!!!

    34. Kim says:

Our plans are for just me to cook really. We don’t celebrate V’day really. I hate being all lovey-dovey… :)

    35. valerie says:

We have no big plans, it is our first valentines day with our new daughter. We will probably get take out and stay up late watching Lost. :)

    37. Connie says:

Happy Valentine’s Day! I think my BF & I will be making dinner & dessert together tonight. Meanwhile I’ve stuck up little notes on the wall with reasons why i love him on the wall for him to read tonight: http://www.daydreamincolor.com/?p=171

    38. These are so cute! Thank you for the giveaway and all of your lovely posts! I get excited everytime a post of yours pops up in my reader! Happy V-Day!

    39. Faith says:

What sweet cards! I’m getting itchy to do something creative but I should probably tackle the mountain of baby laundry I’ve been avoiding. Tonight we’re getting takeout and staying home with our two week-old and three year-old.

Also, we’re going to watch my brother-in-law on TV playing Jeopardy! against a super computer (which is exciting!)

    40. laurita says:

hey nice to see your beautiful cards ..they are gorgeous…me and my husband do not celebrate Valentine as we are more traditionalist, and keep to our DRAGOBETE DAY, which is lovers day in Romanian legends, on February 24th, even if here as everywhere else Valentine is celebrated too. this is us :)

      best regards
      laura

    41. Laura says:

Oh my! The stationary is so cute Melissa! A great way to keep yourself busy waiting for your little boy’s arrival.

I just finished making heart shaped sugar cookie cut-outs with my girls. Going to wash the kitchen floor next. There are red and pink sprinkles everywhere!

    49. Hollie C says:

I love your heart stamp…so cute. Tonight instead of dining out with my family, we will be attending a volleyball camp and basketball practice for my daughter.

    50. Elle says:

My plans are to care for my sick kiddos, but I’m hoping to squeeze in a bit of baking for my sweet husband. I’m lusting after your heart stamp, so winning this set would be the next best thing!
