Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you’re spending your holiday surrounded the love of family & friends!
I was thinking in the wee hours last night of making a great heart-shaped breakfast for Christopher, but I completely failed to do it this morning. I could have, but I just forgot! I do love my husband even though I fail to do special things for him sometimes.
Two weeks ago my sister gave me a box of formula samples that came to her door. Inside the box were little cardboard filler boxes to keep the two canisters in place. I just about discarded them, when I thought how lovely they’d be for holding a small set of cards. Completely inspired by Mer Mag’s color theory valentine’s, I thought I’d make a little bit of stationery to fit in those boxes.
I used my mini heart stamp & stamped like a crazy lady yesterday. It took me about an hour to cut, score, fold & stamp 12 cards and then another half hour to design & cut out matching envelopes (on my Silhouette). I made three little boxes full of stationery in relatively no time & I’m quite pleased with how they turned out.
I plan on keeping one of the sets for myself, but the other two? I’d like to give them away. To two of you. See. . . I love blogging. It’s been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, and you? Thanks to all of you who have commented on this blog. Your encouragement & kind words don’t go unnoticed. Ever.
So, just leave a comment (perhaps telling me what your plans are – or aren’t – for Valentine’s day) and I’ll announce two winners tomorrow. Here are the official details:
- Leave a comment, any comment
- Comment on THIS POST (not on facebook, friends & family)
- Anyone can enter, international entries welcome!
- Comment before 7am MST Tuesday, February 15, 2011
- Two (2) winners will be chosen via random.org & announced February 15, 2011
Best of luck & thanks for reading!
I adore your calligraphy! it makes me want to give it a try.
These are so adorable. Thanks for giving some away!
Melissa, I stumbled upon your blog a few months ago and have been loving it. Thank you, from all us bloggers, for writing. :) You have such a creative style. I just love your heart stationery. Valentine’s Day plans for us? We usually have a tradition of going to the park and swinging (we’re kids at heart) but this year we’re both nursing viruses so it may just be some ibuprofen and an early bed time. :) Thanks again for sharing bits of your life with us! :)
Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!
oh how fun and creative!
No special plans; I already spent an entire day making FIMO heart magnets for the boys and their school buddies so maybe tonight will be for getting more laundry done – hahaha!
Thanks for the chance!

How sweet! :)
We’re ordering pizza and watching a movie after little one goes to bed…oh and I have mini cheesecakes in the oven right now so we’ll eat those later too :)
These are adorable!! I can’t believe how much work you put into this blog. A few friends and I have started a group blog and it is so much work for us. I can’t imagine doing it alone. You do a great job. We need to all get together for lunch again sometime!
Whoo! Who doesn’t love cards! :) A quiet dinner at home is what’s in store.
Cute! Love the industriousness of using those box pieces.
I’m not sure what we are doing. My beloved has a dentist appointment and then a conference call at 8pm. Le sigh…
I am taking a 4 hour practice exam to prep for my real exam in a few weeks. Blerg, not valentinesy at all, but my boyfriend will probably tell me I am smart and eat ice cream with me later!!
Cute! I love your hearts.
lovely cards :) My husband & I don’t do valentines – but we did go out to a gig last night, with my bro-in-law, to see Phoenix (the French band) – Amazing!!!
Luv ’em!
I am super excited for tonight. I am making a lobster pasta dish for my hubby. We’re taking the kids over to a friends’ house and having the house to ourselves for dinner and a little after. It will be nice.
Awesome giveaway, Melissa!
Happy Valentines Day!

I was unable to find anyone to watch my five year old in time, so my valentine and I won’t be going out to an Italian dinner like we planned.
Instead I’m going to make his favorite Italian meal and some heart shaped red velvet whoopie pies.
These are beautiful… you are so talented!
I asked my esposo what we were going to do for Valentine’s Day and he said, ” Do we have to do something?” So there you have it. We have some big plans…but I might try and squeeze in some sugar cookie making and decorating along with a lesson on LOVE for Family Home Evening after our “big plans”. You are so creative and inspiring! love you. ps. we shaved our heads again. Liv and Roz joined in too!
Wow, they look beautiful!
Nowhere in Australia seems to do custom stamps, and I can’t find any online! Needless to say, I am very jealous!
Have a great Valentine’s day!

Love these! I just came across your blog when a friend posted your pregnancy pics, so cute!
hmmm, valentines. I live in Australia (though originally from MN), so we’ve already had our day. My husband’s not too into it, so we didn’t do anything – I had to work anyways and I spent my evening calling the ambulance for an elderly client. Hope your day is better than mine!
love your blog, especially your thrift shop remakes! thanks for offering this give away – I can’t throw away little boxes and things like that either :D
Beautiful cards! I did the dorkiest thing for Valentine’s Day. My boyfriend is a software engineer so I looked up how to say “i love you” in binary code – meaning all 1s and 0s – and stamped it out onto a card for him:)
Adorable cards!
These are so lovely! I follow your blog for quite some time now and I rarely (never?) comment which is a shame because you really have some beautiful ideas! V – day? Almost ended here in Croatia with some nice chocolate cake and tea – just the two of us! Kisses from cold Zagreb!

what fun! i love that heart stamp of yours (big and small!)
i get to go on a little dinner date with the hubs…it’s surprise and i’m pretty excited about it!
Too cute! Happy V Day. :)
I really love the heart stationary. It’s very pretty. My husband works nights and sleeps all day. So, our entire valentine celebration was exchanging cards and candy just as I was about to take my son to school. And now, more vacuuming! heh.
so pretty. Valentine’s Day plans? Can we get take-out please? ;)
Amazing talent! I love your creativity.
Valentines Day? My hubby and I ran a Valentines Day 10k together on Saturday and ate dinner at our favorite pizza place after. Tonight we’ll hit the gym together (rare!) and go out to dessert. We love our treats <3
Love them (:
Aww so cute!! That heart stamp is so mini compared to the big one =P
I don’t have any plans, we had a huge valentines day exchange at school that I blogged about, and…. thats it, I (should be) studying for a test =(

Another great thing you’ve found to do with your stamps. :-) Thanks for giving some of the stationary away and Happy Valentine’s Day! We had a special dinner and my 8-year-old daughter wrote the most wonderful letter to me in her card. It’s great being a mom!
I picked up a heart-shaped pizza on my way home from work to surprise my hubby and kids.
So adorable!
I too had grand plans for Valentine’s Day, and then was too tired after work to remember….oops.
Oh, pick me, pick me, pick me! ;)
My plans for today are to hang out with the family. :)
so cute! thanks for the giveaway!
tonight after the girls are in bed my hubby and i are eating a heart shaped pizza and drinking some goose island urban wheat ale. can’t wait!
Just found your blog recently and love it! I, too, am expecting my second little one in the next couple of weeks so I love seeing all the creative things you do with so much on your plate. :-)
For Valentine’s day I’ll be home with my little girl, Ellie, and will be making some Sweetheart Candy inspired cupcakes.
oh, melissa! those are adorable…i would love to win them!
thanks for the chance.
Clever! I could always use new note cards!
Being a stationery girl, OF COURSE I LOVE these cards you made. Great way to make use of the cardboard boxes!
Best wishes in the next few days… hope the delivery is healthy and happy!
Those are ADORABLE! I have to say that I can’t get over how utterly productive you are in the last few bits of pregnancy. It’s incredible. :) Have a great delivery!
No valentine’s day plans – but a happy cheerful set of stationary would make all bright and shiny! You are so very creative!
1) What cute cards, would love to win these! 2) Happy Valentine’s Day! 3) No special plans tonight…we had a house guest for the weekend so I made a Valentine’s dinner and homemade chocolate mousse Saturday night. Tonight we’ll be staying in and having the leftovers. I actually prefer staying in, with two small boys going out to eat on Valentine’s takes too much advance planning!
They are very cute cards it would be nice to win. thanks :)
I love it! Writing love letters to my hubby once a week is something I have been trying to do this year. He loves them, it makes him feel like he is close to home even when he is on the other side of the world. :)
