I Still Love You: Ostrich Leather and Paisleys

Here are some photos of my most recent accomplishment; a wedding sign in book. My younger sister’s friend, Emily, is getting married soon and her mom wanted one of my books! Fabulous! I had a lot of fun cutting up the leather details, and I’m really happy with how the book turned out. I hope Jerrea and Emily like it, too.

If you (or anyone you know) are interested in a handmade book, or in learning more about bookmaking, contact me by posting below in the comments section!! Thanks!

Another amazing book! I like the interplay between the paisley and the wave-forms in the leather. You’ll have to tell me sometime how you cut the curves in leather smoothly. I can do straight edges with a fabric cutter, but the curves always look choppy. Are you using a utility knife? An exacto blade? (That reminds me, I wanted to ask you if you know what a filet glove is. As a card carrying member of the lacerated fingertip club, I thought you might be interested.)

I really love the books that you’ve made. I would love to make one of my own. Do you have a link or anything on how to get started?
