Like I mentioned earlier, I didn’t make many gifts this year. I wanted to keep my stress low, so I only made two gifts I gave this year: return address stamps. My mom put a bug in my brain back in september when she showed me a very beautifully designed wedding invitation with an equally pretty return address stamp on the envelope. It’s been plaguing me for some time now and I thought that perhaps they’d come in handy with my mom’s card-sending & my sister-in-law’s wedding that’s just around the corner.
For these stamps I hand calligraphed (using my wacom tablet & illustrator) the last name & then typed out the address. As you can see I’ve photoshopped the bulk of their addresses for privacy reasons.
The stamps turned out better than I imagined! I’m a little sad I didn’t have these stamps to give to my mom & mother-in-law on Christmas, but what do you do when you submit the artwork 30 minutes after the deadline? Not much. I hope they get good use out of their stamps!
Those are beautiful, and GREAT gift ideas! How wonderful would they be for a wedding gift! Where is it that you submitted your artwork to for crafting?
Yes I would love to know where you submitted your artwork! That is such a great idea!
Those are gorgeous! I gave some similar stamps to my bridesmaids when I got married. Once we buy a house, I just may come knockin’ down your blog door to make me one! :)
Like you, I didn’t make any gifts this year, except homemade vanilla (totally low stress).
Love your blog!
Erin
I too would love to know where you had them made. What a great idea.
Thanks so much, all!!
I had them made at a local stamp & trophy shop. I’m sure there’s something like that in your area, I just used google maps to find it!
Oh my gosh!!! I would seriously pony up for a stamp like that. So pretty and classy. Do tell us if you ever start making them for sale. :)
your blog has seriously been my fave lately. i’ve learned so much here. my stocking was filled with pretty calligraphy ink + santa stuck a big new flash under the tree for me. all had made my list after being inspired here. thanks for sharing the creative piece of your brain with us.

How very pretty. I hope you’re proud to have finally ‘given birth’ to your idea. I’m afraid you may have passed your brain bug onto us readers now, though. These are fantastic.
