Baby’s Firsts Book with Lifestyle Crafts

I’m over on the Lifestyle Crafts blog sharing a couple of tips: how to make a stub book and how to make a leather enclosure!

I made the above stub book, and I’m so excited to gift it to a new mom. I designed custom plates for this project, but the artwork could be used for any number of things. I definitely plan on using my new plates for cards and envelopes, which I’ll be sure to share.

That being said, I’m offering the above artwork (graphics ganged up for a custom plate and separated for other projects) to you for free, well sort of. The artwork is free for personal use, if you simply follow my blog. You can follow this blog’s RSS (google reader is dying so choose something else), email, facebook, twitter, etc. See the left sidebar, then you can click the button below to download the artwork. If you’d like to license the artwork commercially, email me through the contact form above.

Yes, I’m bribing you to stick around.

This is awesome! So hard to find a baby book that doesn’t look like cuteness threw up all over it (believe me, I’ve searched). Would love this for my daughter Tala… she was born just 4 days ago :)

So if I download your designs, I won’t be able to use as an actual letterpress, right?

    • Melissa says:

The designs are ganged up if you want to order a plate and they’re separate if you want to use them in other digital projects. You’d have to order the plate yourself, but you could still letterpress with the artwork.

      Hopefully that clarifies things better?

Why would you have to bribe us? Your ‘stuff’ is great! Love your site, love your tips and appreciate it all. I stick around and I ‘like’ but this is over my head. Is their a machine that takes the plates and presses on to the card stock? Sorry to be so dense!! Thanks for all your great projects you share with us everyday!

You’re much too kind, Brenda! Thanks for your sweet words!

To answer your question, yes! It does that magical deboss thing to thick stock, but it’s a small desktop machine that can also handle die cuts. You can use ink with the letterpress plates, I did the blind deboss (sans ink) because it saved time and still read well.

You can “bribe” me anytime! But, you don’t have to- I love your blog xoxo

Custom letterpress plates – That is awesome! I’ve always wondered how that worked (clearly I’m no letterpress genius).

    I love the baby book.

And I’ll be sticking around even without bribes. :)
